Discovery Communications has dramatically revamped a 150,000 square foot former big-box Caldor store into a capacious Creative and Technology Center. This South Silver Spring structure located along East-West Highway, next to Acorn Park, is a ten-block walk from the 600,000 square foot world headquarters of Discovery Communications Inc., the world's largest producer of documentary films, (the Discovery Channel) in the heart of Silver Spring central business district. The Creative and Technology Center houses the corporation's vast computer center, its tape library, its editing center and other specialized equipment. Four hundred employees are located at this site.
